Prayer card and bookmark photo sizes

Prayer card and bookmark photo sizes: the usual 2.5×4.25 inch card and a 2×6 inch bookmark, and why that small card can look sharper than an easel.

What size is a prayer card photo?

A common prayer card is 2.5 by 4.25 inches, the size of a large business card or a holy card. A memorial bookmark is often about 2 by 6 inches. Both are narrow. A face that sits in the upper half of a portrait will fit. A wide landscape photo will lose the sides.

Why a small card can look sharper than an easel

Because the card is small, it can look sharp even when the same photograph would be soft as a 24×36 easel. The pixels are spread across fewer inches. If you only have one modest photo, the prayer card and the program are the kinder sizes.

Where do the name and the dates go?

Leave room above the head. Cards often have a line of type under or over the picture, set by the printer, not inside the portrait file. Tribute Portrait does not print names or dates onto the photograph.

Download the PDF if the shop will trim to the marks, including the 0.125 inch bleed. The JPG is the same image for a printer who lays the photo into their own template.

If the only photograph is a group, crop to the person before you think about the card. The restoration keeps that crop’s features. It does not rebuild a face that was never in the frame.

The prayer-card size is one of the print files in the memorial portrait.
